What has happened to our world? For many there is no room for compromise, it is their way or the highway. To those people I have said goodbye. I love talking politics or issues, however those days are few and far between. The days of people using facts to argue are over for the most part. Too many want to hear their side and get vicious if anyone disagrees.
We are living in Orwell’s 1984. If you have not read it, do so now. Our government knows everything we do, and if we disagree with those in power there are repercussions. I do not want to hear it was Bush’s fault anymore. This answer comes up all too often. We have an ineffective media who for the most part are too young and inexperienced not to drink the kool aid of those in charge. This morning surfing the main stream media morning news shows, Justin Bieber and Scientology were the topics being discussed. One would think all is well in our world. If one wants news in the USA the BBC may be the way to go.
I have NEVER voted straight ticket in an election. Neither side is correct all of the time. I need a break from the animosity going on every day. What have I done?
My Facebook page is now very little politics and a whole lot of dog rescue people. This helps my blood pressure immensely. I have defriended many who like to be nasty to argue a point. I have not defriended people who disagree with me, just those with venom in their hearts; again I love a good debate.
I am worried about the 1984 world we live in. Hopefully we can turn this scary trend around. Maybe we can all compromise on issues. Maybe we can read bills to be introduced by lawmakers BEFORE they are passed. If we can work together we can save this great country, which is in jeopardy if we continue the path we are on.
